My wrist is stiff after removing cast?

So I fell while playing basketball and landed the on ground with my left wrist perpendicular to the ground. I went to the emergency room to get an xray and the doctor said it was a fracture. So 2 weeks later when they took the cast off my wrist was stiff and it still kind of hurt a little bit when I twist it. Why does it still hurt when I twist it? It's not a very painful thing it just stings a little. Also I still cannot bend my left wrist so that it can be perpendicular to my arm. I can do it with my right wrist but not the the wrist I hurt (left wrist). Is this normal, do I just wait for a few days, or is it a problem? Once again it doesn't hurt that much to bother me but it just stings when I twist it. Any ideas?
