Sudden stiff steering?

Ok here's the story, I have a flat tire but it's very minor, just put more air in it and it's good for a couple days. But today I went driving, was going to go make a turn, slammed on the brakes cause a bleepin deer. Then all I notice is that my steering became steering like alot. I can turn it a quarter just fine, but the other 3 quarters I have to put quite alot of effort to turn it. What happened?! Can I fix it without spending hundreds of dollars! Btw my car is a 05 Saturn Sab auto transmission. Someone help me out here plz!!!!
