What does it mean when a car feels stiffer when driving?
There are two kinds of stiffness in cars, the chassis stiffness and the suspension tuning. Both contribute to how the car handles. Generally a stiffer feel means the car does not wallow and roll as much in turns, it stays planted and responds better to steering inputs. However this comes at a price. The car has a sportier feel but is not as compliant on rough surfaces so you'll feel more on bad roads. Some people would consider the ride harsh compared to a "couch car" like a Camry, which has a softer tuning for comfort vs. handling and performance. Concerning the trans, someone else asked that question a little bit ago.
